The Number 444 and the Battle for World Domination
Denmark has found itself in a crisis with the American President Donald Trump.
Denmark has found itself in a deeply serious crisis with the American president Donald Trump. A few days before Donald Trump's inauguration as the 47th American president, he again expressed a desire to buy Greenland. He did not rule out using military intervention or imposing a punitive tariff on Denmark to get his wish fulfilled. Even after a conversation with the Danish prime minister Mette Frederiksen, Trump did not withdraw his threats. The crisis that has arisen between the USA and Denmark has created a shock and a sense of disbelief in Denmark. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark along with the Faroe Islands. In his inauguration speech, Trump mentioned that he wants to expand the USA's territory.
The former Danish Prime Minister and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in an interview on the American TV station CNN: “But in Denmark there is a big surprise that he (Trump) is using exactly the same arguments to gather control over Greenland as President Putin has used to attack Ukraine. And still we are surprised that Trump, instead of challenging China, which I think is a real political risk in the world today – instead of addressing that challenge, he starts by challenging Greenland, Canada, Panama, all allies or partners of the United States. I don’t think that makes America great again.”
To understand the situation from another perspective, I laid out a card spread with the following question: describe the situation between Denmark, Greenland, and the USA and what consequences it might have. Notice the three fours! The number 444. To get closer to the deeper meaning of the number 444, I will first, before interpreting the spread, take the reader back in time to some personal experiences with this unusual number.
As a young person, I was very fascinated in numbers, the nature of numbers, and the meaning of numbers. At one point, I discovered that three-digit numbers, for example, 222, held a unique meaning. In the Middle Ages, they were considered magical or divine. Most people know the number 666 from the Bible, where in the Book of Revelation chapter 13, verse 18, it says: “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six." The world-famous Danish astronomer and astrologer Tycho Brahe published a book in 1602 with a list of 777 stars. Tycho Brahe was quite aware that there were more stars than 777, but the number was a sacred number that referred to God's heaven.
Shortly before my German studies at the University of Copenhagen, I had a job at a senior center. Here, I often played billiards with an elderly man. He knew nothing about my interest in numbers. Late one night, I had just been studying these three-digit numbers, and the next day he asked me, to my great surprise: “Do you know Hitler's soldier number?” “No, I don't,” I replied. But the astonishment must have shone from my face. “It was 444,” he told me.
It would turn out that this number would appear again.
During my study of German history in the period leading up to World War II, I came across a crucial vote in the German Reichstag on March 23, 1933. Here, the so-called Ermächtigungsgesetz (“Law to Remedy the Distress of People and Reich”) was passed. With this law, the transition from a democracy to a National Socialist dictatorship was made possible. The law was passed with 444 votes!

One day at the library (before the internet era!), I was looking for information about the history of Berlin and discovered, to my great surprise, that the German states were listed under the subject number 44.4!
A few years later, I was invited to give a seminar in Hamburg about the meaning and nature of numbers. I seriously considered talking about the number 444 but was hesitant to mention Hitler. It was still a sensitive topic in Germany at that time. The day before I was to travel, I received a phone bill for 444 Danish kroner! I took it as a sign that I could indeed mention the story of the number 444. It was well received in Hamburg!
Like all numbers, the number 444 can have a light and a dark side. However, fours tend to assert themselves more strongly than other numbers. If we look at the number 4 itself, it will symbolize territories and borders. But also having power and control over one's territory or country. If you look at older paintings of kings and emperors, they are often depicted holding a globus cruciger in their left hand and a sceptre in their right hand. The symbols of secular power, collectively called regalia. The orb of the globus cruciger symbolizes the earth and the cross the four corners of the world. The king or emperor exercises complete and sovereign power over land and people. We can also see Christ depicted with a globus cruciger in his left hand in older paintings, symbolizing Christ as Salvator Mundi, the savior of the world.
When three-digit numbers are formed – and in this case 444 – the “trinity” acts as a kind of amplifier of the number four. It becomes extraordinarily powerful, and in the dark nuance of the number 444, it will mean the desire for total world domination or control and sovereignty over the entire earth. One could also say the victory of nationalism over internationalism. A tendency we clearly see reflected in the world at the moment, most clearly among the superpowers (China, Russia and the USA) and especially in President Donald Trump's inauguration speech. The bright meaning of the number 444 would be the victory of internationalism over nationalism (a development found in Scandinavia and some european countries) or the development towards a future world government – a kind of UN version 3.
Let's take a closer look at the card spread:
The question for the spread was: describe the situation between Denmark, Greenland, and the USA and what consequences it might have. The King of Diamonds (Donald Trump) wants to buy (four of diamonds) Greenland (Jack of Clubs). The Jack of Clubs is in a union with the Kingdom of Denmark (King of Clubs). The King of Diamonds has taken momentum with the four of diamonds in the middle of the spread and threatens Denmark and Greenland (three, four, and five of spades). The three of spades shows that there are some difficulties in the relationship (two of clubs) between Denmark and Greenland. The King of Diamonds tries to split the relationship between Greenland and Denmark (five of spades). The Jack of Clubs looks down towards the four of hearts, towards independence. But the four of diamonds, four of spades, and four of hearts form the powerful number 444, which the King of Diamonds supports and maintains with the dominant four of diamonds in the centre of the spread. For the King of Diamonds, it is not only a question of power and control, but also ownership. How will it develop? It is interesting to note that the three spades’ cards isolate or separate Greenland from the USA. So, I interpret it as Greenland never becoming part of the USA, never becoming an American state. But the period ahead will be very tense and threatening from the USA's side.
According to an agreement between the USA and Denmark from 1951, the USA has all the possibilities to expand with military bases in Greenland. The argument that it is important for the USA's security to own Greenland does not make sense. But why does President Donald Trump want to buy Greenland? Some political commentators have believed that the reason is more that Donald Trump thinks the USA would look bigger on the map! That viewpoint seems to be fully confirmed by the card spread and the number 444!
