Pluto enters Aquarius. How will it affect us?
On November 19th, 2024, at 8:30 PM GMT, Pluto enters Aquarius, where it will remain until January 2044. The last time Pluto moved into Aquarius was in January 1778. However, it wasn’t until Pluto's discovery in 1933 that its powers became part of the collective consciousness.
Pluto is the god of the underworld, known as Hades in Greek mythology. He rules over the realm of the dead, and the souls of the deceased are ferried across the river Styx by Charon, the ferryman, to reach the underworld. The river Styx serves as the boundary between the world of the living and the realm of the dead.
Pluto's influence became evident during the rise of forces such as the burgeoning Nazism in 1930s Germany, widespread fear of communism, and Japan’s militaristic empire. The planet symbolizes powerful collective forces that oscillate between extremes—ranging from inhumane barbarism to transformative humanism. It represents a process of metamorphosis, a profound transformation of individuals and nations, guiding them toward more humane societal systems.
When Pluto changes signs, significant and fundamental shifts occur. In a sense, it brings unresolved and unconscious frustrations and aggressions to the surface. This creates opportunities for demagogues and autocrats who are adept at "reading" these unconscious forces and articulating them in ways that resonate with the masses.
We’ve already seen the prelude to these changes for some time. A new world order is taking shape, with Russia and China emerging as dominant powers, supported by other members of the so-called BRICS nations. Following its recent presidential election, the United States is moving in an as-yet-unclear direction. Meanwhile, the EU must find its place within this shifting global landscape.
We can anticipate increased polarization both within societies and among nations. Outdated political systems will either transform or collapse, making way for new political ideologies to emerge.
