An Economic Revolution
An astrological and cartomantic view
Turning to astrology—specifically sidereal Vedic astrology (not the Western tropical system)—we find some compelling patterns emerging this summer.
It has been a notably turbulent period during the early months of U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term. Just days after the planet Uranus entered the sign of Taurus on March 18 in the sidereal Vedic zodiac, Trump announced sweeping global tariffs. On April 2, he unveiled tariff charts to a stunned global audience—an announcement that sent shockwaves through international markets. The spectre of a global trade war began to take shape. Businesses around the world expressed deep concern over the instability created, while economists warned of a looming recession in the U.S. and other countries.
A few days later (April 5th), Trump declared on his platform, Truth Social:
”THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION, AND WE WILL WIN. HANG THOUGH, it won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
In astrology, Uranus represents sudden, radical changes, revolutions, and unpredictability—a force that accelerates developments. Its discovery in 1789 coincided with the French Revolution, further emphasizing its disruptive nature. The sign of Taurus governs economy and stability, and with Uranus transiting through this sign over a span of approximately seven years, we can expect a period of economic volatility and upheaval.
Even more striking is that Uranus's entry into Taurus also places it in Trump’s 10th house in his birth chart—the house of power, status, and wealth—where his natal Uranus, Sun, and the North Lunar Node (Rahu) are also located. This suggests that Trump will personally feel the intense, erratic forces of this transit—not just internally, but through powerful external responses to his actions.
Adding to this cosmic tension, the planet Mars shifts from Cancer to Leo on June 6, where it becomes extremely potent. Just days before, the lunar nodes, known as Rahu and Ketu in Vedic astrology, move into Aquarius and Leo, respectively. During Mars’s transit through Leo (June 6 – July 28), we can anticipate shifts in power dynamics across multiple levels.
Trump has his Mars in Leo, positioned alongside his Ascendant (rising sign). This alignment suggests he will be acutely affected by these shifting power structures. The critical factor is the meeting between Mars and Ketu. His credibility may be called into question, and doubts about his promise to Make America Great Again may increasingly surface.
In Vedic astrology, Rahu and Ketu are highly significant. The South Node (Ketu) will transit over Trump’s natal Mars in late October 2026, signalling a period when his exercise of power may come under greater scrutiny and likely diminish.
This unfolding narrative raises a compelling question for the cards:
How will Trump’s economic revolution evolve through the remainder of 2025?
The first layout—the pyramid—consists only of red cards. In non-personal spreads, hearts typically represent national sentiment, while diamonds relate to the economy. Many hearts can indicate populism in a political context.
The Three of Diamonds, positioned at the top of the pyramid, indicates the main theme or key of the reading. It suggests that Trump (King of Hearts) seeks economic growth for the U.S., but since it’s a low diamond, the outlook is not particularly promising.
The direction the U.S. is heading in its attempt to Make America Great Again (Ten of Hearts) is marked by economic gambling (Jack of Diamonds). The result appears to be more of an economic setback (Ace of Diamonds) than real progress. Trump (King of Hearts) stands strong at the center of the bottom row, indicating that his popularity is unlikely to wane for the rest of the year (Six of Hearts).
If we ask the same question in an international context, what would the picture look like then? A predominance of spades reveals a U.S. that is becoming increasingly isolated from the rest of the world (Four of Clubs and Four of Spades). Trump's tariff policies may become a burden (Three of Spades and Six of Diamonds) for the U.S. itself.
Trump’s extreme swings in decision-making (Eight of Spades) will cause pain in many countries, and trust in the U.S. (Six of Diamonds) is likely to be significantly eroded—perhaps even beyond repair for many years to come.
In summary, the conclusion must be that 2025 will not economically "Make America Great Again”.
